Yesterday Jack and I spent the day running some errands and playing with friends and generally having a good old time.
We started off by going to the park in the morning where it was really cold. We were on a mission to find Emma and Jenny so that Jack could give Jenny the hat that Stacy had made for her. As we were walking around the park a big SFPD Police SUV drove into the park, I quickly put Ripley on the leash and started talking to Jack about how I hoped we wouldn't get a ticket.
He was very concerned and we talked about how the police are good people who try and keep us safe and how part of their job is to enforce rules. And there's a rule at the park that we should have Ripley on a leash.
We then went to Jack's house and then on to Toast, where we're becoming regulars. We had waffles with bananas and bacon. Jack ate a lot. We then drove down the street looking for machines. We soon found an excavator, front end loader, backhoe, bobcat, generator, and a dump truck. I drove by it and then drove around the block to drive by it again.
Then we went to a carwash on divisadero and fell and got the car washed. We both agreed that the carwash on South Van Ness does a much better job with washing the car. Jack was rather disappointed with this wash as there's not much of a viewing area to see the cars get soapy. While we were there we saw a driver get pulled over by a policeman on a motorcycle. He then wrote her a ticket - which we discussed in context to our earlier conversation.
After this we went to Japantown & into a stationary store where we both ran around looking for stickers and things. We found a lot of good stuff and Jack had a really good time, we went into the Kinokura book store and spent some time in the kid's book area. The books there were strange and we ended up not getting anything there. But we went to the supermarket in the center and looked at all the crazy foods. We bought some pork for dinner (very reasonably priced, btw).
Next we went to Super7 and talked to some of our friends there for a bit. Then we went to a supermarket to get Ericka some theraflu and juice as she was home sick. We stopped my her house and I dropped of the stuff to much appreciation. Jack was very happy that Ericka was drinking juice as he enjoys drinking juice as well. He mentioned this quite a bit that day.
Next it was back to Jack's house for lunch. I cooked up some edamame and made him a peanut butter and jelly sandwich without crust. He ate a lot of edamame but didn't take a bite of sandwich.
Next it was to bed for the nap & man that just didn't really work very well. It took him about an hour to fall asleep. I had made a play date with Emma and Jenny for 3:30 & at 3:40 I had to wake up Mr. J and get him ready to go. He was pretty cranky but then got excited to go to the park.
Went to the park and played played played for an hour and a half with Emma. Lots of running around, climbing up stairs, chasing each other and other kids. It was very cold and cloudy, but we all had a nice time. He was pretty possesive of a toy truck in the sand box, but at some point did give it up without too much of a problem.
Then back to Jack's house - but first we saw a big vacuum truck vacuuming out a sewer drain. It was really loud and cool and we watched it for a while.
At Jack's house we played and I did the dishes and cleaned up a little, then I started on dinner and made him a real big boy dinner with grilled pork and potatoes and corn and broccoli and cheese over the potato veggie dish. It looked beautiful and was very simple with not much embellishment other than salt and a little pepper and oil. It was delish and I ate it all as Jack barely took one bite. He did try everything and I gave him credit for that.
I made him a cheese and avocado quesadilla and spaghetti with red sauce and he ate all of both, a very good dinner ultimately.
Then we went and sat on the toilets together and filled the tub. He played a lot with Ripley in the hall and had a big fun time lying in ripley's bed. Later he gave Ripley his dog toys and patted him and they really had some fun together.
We then got him in the bath and then pj's and then a couple books and then to bed. We got to bed right at 8:30, but it took him over an hour to fall asleep.
A very nice day all together. No poop though.

What a great day for you both. As Jenny reminds me, feeding a toddler is notoriously frustrating.
