Jack and his diapers (posted on behalf of Anne)

Thursday Jack protested strenuously when I tried to change his diapers. The first time, he insisted that he wanted to see the old diaper, which I had already put in the Diaper Champ. So I opened up the Champ and let him look in. Then I closed it, but he still wanted to see so I opened it again. He would not let me put on a clean diaper in his room so I took him into the living room and got the new diaper on him. The next diaper change, he again wanted to see the old diaper, so I let him see it. That wasn’t enough; he wanted to see the pee. So I let him touch the wet side of the diaper. Then he was cool and let me put the new diaper on and we had no dispute the rest of the day.

I think he is just trying to understand this phenomena. After all, this is something that comes out of his body. It’s really a good sign that he is aware of what’s happening. In the living room, he told me he had peed while standing on one of his books. He said “I peed on the book.” In fact, he had peed, but the diaper did its job. I think we should talk to him about how Ripley when he was a puppy had to learn to pee outside. (Also of course, that people pee inside and into diapers, etc.)

Jack is so interesting! Love Anne/Mom
